Jewelmer Joaillerie designed Maxine Medina’s headpiece

For the 2017 Miss Universe pageant, Jewelmer Joaillerie, in collaboration with acclaimed Filipino fashion designer Rhett Eala, designed the headpiece of Miss Philippines Maxine Medina.

The golden arcs and bends of the piece tell of the sails and the seas that surround the archipelago—a symbol of connection and the binding force of different cultures.

Crowning the headpiece is a cluster of golden South Sea pearls: birthed from the Philippine seas, blooming like flowers, and radiating the glory of a national treasure.
